Sanur is the quiet, easy side of Bali. It has a calm, reef-protected shoreline, a flat paved path along the beach, early sunrises and a relaxed pace that suits families, couples and anyone who wants a holiday without the crowds. We have run our spa on Jalan Batur Sari for years, so this guide shares what we tell our own guests.

Why Sanur

Sanur is one of Bali's oldest beach areas. The beachfront path runs for about 5 km, it is flat and paved, and the main stretch has no cars or motorbikes. The water inside the reef is calm and shallow, which is why so many families stay here.

It is also practical. Fast boats to Nusa Penida leave from Sanur, the airport is about 14 km away, and everything from cafes to pharmacies is within a short walk or ride.

Planning a day around a massage

Many of our guests walk or cycle the beachfront in the early morning, then book a massage or foot reflexology for the afternoon, when the sun is strongest. Others come straight after a fast-boat day trip or before a late flight. Message us on WhatsApp with the day and time you have in mind and we will tell you what is available.
