What is a shampoo and blow-dry?
A shampoo and blow-dry is the simplest professional hair service: your hair is washed, conditioned, and dried with a hairdryer and brush so it finishes smooth, full and styled. Some people call it a wash and blow-dry or simply a blowout.
It is popular for a reason. A good blow-dry changes how hair sits and moves, it takes the work of styling out of your hands, and it lasts as long as the humidity lets it. In Bali, that is a fair challenge, which is why a salon finish is a treat before a dinner, a wedding or a photo.
Regular or styled?
We offer two finishes. Ask your stylist if you are unsure which suits your hair and occasion:
Regular blow-dry
A clean, tidy, natural finish. Hair is washed, conditioned and dried smooth. IDR 175K with Sensatia Botanical, IDR 150K standard.
Styled blow-dry
A shaped finish with more attention to volume, direction and form, for events, dinners or photos. IDR 250K with Sensatia Botanical, IDR 200K standard.
What happens in your session
A typical shampoo and blow-dry at Sari Hair Salon:
- Shampoo and conditionerYour hair is washed and conditioned. You can choose Sensatia Botanical or standard products.
- Towel dry and prepExcess water is removed and hair is detangled. Tell your stylist about any heat-sensitive or colour-treated hair.
- Blow-dryHair is dried with a dryer and brush, in sections for a smooth finish. A styled blow gives extra shape and volume.
- FinishFinal shaping, and you are ready to go. If you have an event, tell us the time so we can plan around it.
Heat and healthy hair
Heat styling is common and perfectly manageable, but it works best with a little care. Dermatologists and hairdressers generally recommend using a heat protectant, avoiding the highest heat settings, and giving very dry or damaged hair some extra conditioning. If your hair is bleached, chemically straightened or fragile, tell your stylist so the blow-dry is gentle.
If you want to boost condition at the same time, a hair mask or our hair & scalp treatment (which can include a regular or styled blow) adds moisture and a long scalp massage.
When to book a blow-dry
Travellers book one before a special dinner, a wedding or a photo shoot, after a few days of sun, sea and salt, or on the last day before a flight. Locals book one whenever they want to feel put together without an hour of effort at home. Allow time before your event, and book earlier in the day if you are building a longer visit around it.
